Generations of Faith at Blessed John XXIII

GOF (Generations of Faith) is open to all members of the parish who wish to continue growing in their understanding of the beliefs, traditions, and rituals of our faith. We have a rich faith tradition that many of us have only begun to explore and experience. This process will not only enrich us but will also enrich our children and grandchildren for generations to come. This is how Generations of Faith works:

A. The Gathering

Generations of Faith is an event-centered community experience that brings the community together to eat, to learn and to share faith as a community!

Each season we gather to break open events with a different topic as a theme. We gather in this way that we may truly experience our beliefs with our Church community.

1. We Eat Together

Just come, eat and enjoy! No pot luck, no cooking, serving or cleaning!

2. Whole Group Opening Experience

We gather together as households to focus our prayer and learning on the Images of God found in our tradition and the scripture. This is an experience with all those present.

3. Split Into Age-Related Activities

Next we separate in various groupings:

Babysitting, Children with Parents, Elementary, Teens/Young Adults, Adults

All ages will learn about the same topic according to their stage in life!

4. Group Sharing Experience/Prayer

Age Groups come back together to share what they’ve learned and pray together.

B. The Home Kit

Generations of Faith integrates home and parish. We will be empowering and equipping individuals and families to live their faith at home and in the world. You will get a Home Kit about each topic at each gathering to use with your household!

C. The Event

We invite you to attend the various liturgies that have the themes we will be studying this season! Our goal is to help you to better understand the rituals and scripture which are shared at that liturgy, as they are essential to our Catholic beliefs!
