Fr. Herb is the 12th child in a family of 13. He was ordained in 1974 as a priest of the Diocese of Toledo. Former pastorates include St. Thomas More, Bowling Green (1984-94) and St. Peter, Mansfield (1994-2005).

In addition to parish work, Fr. Herb is involved in writing, including a column in the Catholic Chronicle and regular syndicated features for the Catholic News Service. An outdoorsman, he loves to canoe, hike, bike, swim, and camp. When possible he also enjoys gardening, live theater, traveling, and reading.

Marla, a former fourth grade and kindergarten teacher, holds a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green Statue University, and Masters in Educational Psychology and Pastoral Studies.

She has served as Pastoral Associate at St. Thomas More University Parish and St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish. She is a trained advocate for the Diocese of Toledo Tribunal and most recently worked as the Director of Sacraments at St. Patrick’s.

Marla and her husband Steven have three children, Brittany, Justin and Angela.

Clif Perryman was ordained to the Diaconate by Archbishop Pilarczyk in 1987 in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Ohio. Clif has been married for thirty-five years to Jane. The fruits of life include four children (Clifton Robert, Emily, Sarah and Margaret) and six grandchildren (Clifton John, Katherine, Andrew, Sophie Jane, Lucy and Quinn). He ministered in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for nine years and has recently been granted faculties to minister in the Toledo Diocese.

Clif is active in not-for-profit leadership. He is a corporate member of the Board of Regents to the Milwaukee School of Engineering, he holds a seat on the Corporate Advisory Council to Marquette University, sits on the Finance Committee for the National Conference of Catholic Chaplains, and is President of the National Diaconate Institute for Continuing Education.

Michael was born on July 26, 1985, the last of three boys. He attended elementary school at St. Jerome, Walbridge and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2004.

Before coming to Blessed John XXIII, Michael served as organist at St. Francis DeSales parish, and as youth music coordinator at St. Joe's Maumee. Michael is currently a Music Education major at Bowling Green State University with a primary emphasis on piano, and a minor in trumpet.

Tina is very active in the parish and local schools. She graduated from college in Colorado, and has lived in Perrysburg for ten years with her husband and 2 daughters. Tina will be the friendly voice you hear when you call the Parish office.  

Waleska joined the staff last year when we began our 'Field of Faith' campaign. She and her husband, Hector, are retired, but not really, with all their involvement in the life of Blessed John Parish.
